Hardcore Dancing
The Kid crowdpunching sounds like a douchbag, there are quite a few of them out there now, at the show I was at friday night this kid i know was crowd punching and hit my girlfreind dead in the face and gave her the bloody nose of her life! Granted she's awsome and once she realized her nose wasnt broken she started laughing, she wasnt pissed off at all though, the people running the show (one of our friends) even asked if she wanted the dude kicked out but she understands the risk and just said, "thats what i get for comming to a hardcore show."

The kid you mentioned who hit the crowd puncher with the chair, although the kid crowd punching may have deserved a beating, a chair is a bit excessive. The venue i was at on friday even had a sign that read "CHAIRS ARE FOR SITTING NOT FOR HITTING"
The pits at hardcore shows and metal shows are two completely different things! I hate push pits!

Not to say that there isn't a risk of getting hurt, like I mentioned above, my girlfriend got punched in her face at a show on friday and got one hell of a bloddy nose! However she did not retaliate against the person who punched her because she undersands the risk that you take when you go to this type of show. Hardcore however isnt just about the shows but also about the way you live, its about unity and pride for onself and each other, there is a saying that most hardcore kids take to heart "Friends, Family, Forever". For a better understanding (somewhat in the form of a rant) check out post #24 in this thread.

Its all good, Kylay, no hard feelings. I just get a bit worked up when people judge a lifestyle and no nothing about it. Kinda like politicians vs. stoners!

Man, hardcore dancing is the most idiotic form of "dancing." Actually, I'd be inclined to say it isn't dancing. It's artless, and makes people look like morons. It makes you all look like you think you're cool because you can punch the air, and do random kicks at the air. Well, you're not cool. rofl.

Stop being so close minded, hardcore is a lifestyle! The way the kids choose to dance is thier choice, if you dont like it then dont go to a show! i personally think it is and art and its beautiful. And guess what, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm ok with the hardcore lifestyle. Being friends, and sticking with eachother is all good and shit. Most of the new hardcore music is shit in my opinion, except for some moshcore like Hatebreed and FBC. The main reason I hate hardcore though is because I can't go to a metal show without some dumbasses punching air. At the Municipal Waste show people were 2stepping, at the Suffocation show people were dancing, and at the Belphegor/Krisiun show people were dancing. Keep your kung fu at the hardcore shows!

I hear that, a lot of new shit is crappy, but theres a bunch of good local bands emerging out of the scene where I come from. As far as people dancing at metal shows... thats just lame! I dont like it when some kid comes to a hardcore show and starts head banging or push pitting, i say let the metal kids have their fun at their own shows and let the hardcore kids have their fun at the hardcore shows... it sucks when people just dont know whats up... BTW, what band are you in? Got a band myspace or somthing?

I'm in www.myspace.com/ashoursturntodays
The guitarist calls it Deathcore, but alot of our songs sound pretty hardcore. Once we play a few more shows and get some recordings up on myspace, we are going to record a demo. We just started and are already getting some positive feedback from the locals. Our real hardcore scene is basically dead, everything that is "hardcore" is really some form of deathcore. I'll post a topic once we get a recording up so you can hear.
