    Scary Shit!

So I recently got a small package in the mail for the first and probably last time, and since then I have seen cops everywhere. I chalked it up to paranoia and didn't think much about it until my wife calls me at work and says a FEDERAL POLICE OFFICER was just at the door! The cop said he was just there to ask the neighbors about a guy on the street who applied to be a cop but I'm thinking that is too coincidental for me. I started playing through scenarios in my mind, what would getting busted REALLY mean to my family and I? Legal bills, criminal record, jail time, and how would the neighbors and coworkers treat us?
I decided I have been way too "loose" when it comes to this stuff. My conscience tells me that I should fight these unjust laws, and I will, but I must be more carefull not to put my family at risk in any way.
I am sharing this because I see so many people on here discussing illegal activities and posting pics etc... I just hope I am being paranoid and nothing bad happens.

I know what you mean. I do not have a family to support yet, but I do realize that sometimes I am just to relaxed with it. I think its because for me, it is such a common thing. In a sense you come to the point where you almost forget its illegal. Then you get a scare like that. Sometimes its good to just keep it cool.

    Toke on.

Dude, he's probably a guy who works for DDS, Department of Defense Services. They go around asking neighbors for character assessments if they apply for a position that require a security clearance, ex. like a police officer who would be required that kind of clearance. It happens so frequently where I live.

You are just paranoid. But now you know.

Ya rg420 especially up here in Canada, we hear that the laws seem to be relaxed but just like in the U.S.A. where the DEA might swarm in on a community where the citizens want it decriminalized, we must be wary of the same issues.
    thanks

Yikes, didn't realize you were canadian, but same thing applies. Investigating a person's life by their own authorization in order to get a clearance.

Ya I know it happens but it has never happened before. And what timing!
You are probably right that I am being paranoid but I guess the point that hit home for me and that I want to share is we should be paranoid sometimes considering the consequences of getting busted. I just never thought to much before about what would happen in my life if I got nailed.
    peace
