No don't try to grow durban poison or any other sativa really your first time out, they get big and will be a pain.
If you have that much ceiling height then why not just install a carbon filter?
Northern Lights is the classic beginner plant. Why not try that one? It takes a lickin.
stinkyattic Reviewed by stinkyattic on . suggest a strain: first timer, inside; low odor etc. ok, so i was thinking northern lights, and that may well be what i grow, but now i'm redesigning my grow room and thinking that i have the height to perhaps go with a plant with some sativa in it. i'll have one veg room under cfl and one grow room most likely under 250w hps, though i'll consider 400w hps if the energy cost increase is reasonable anyway, room will just be a section of a bedroom, sectioned off with black vinyl, mylar on the inside, probably 5ft by 5ft, or perhaps 4by4.
