need help to maintain mommas
Hey guys, im doing a SOG method and i need like up to 60 clones everyday, my question is. How do you keep your momma healthy for over 6 months. I am limited to a 400 hps but thinking switching over to a 600mh to keep my momma strong and healthy for whenever i need clones.
Im having problems right now with my hps because after like 2 month my plants are soo tall that i am obligated to flower them.
Can someone help me. Thankyou.:rasta:

60 clones a DAY??? You're gonna need one big momma or several. Try keeping a mom in soil, much easier to maintain and deal with.

Or in Coco.......Why the hell you need 60 clones/day ? You'll never have a mom that can do that. You'd need a 8 foot tree outside at minimum, even then I am going to say its impossible. If you need 60 clones/day, then you need a barn full of moms with enough MH's to light Detroit, or Huston.

My advice is SOIL MOTHERS.
Even hydro growers I know keep their moms in dirt. Coco is fine too. In fact I'd prefer it because it's easy to flush.
You can just keep repotting them indefinitely as they get big... or you can prune them aggressively, even when you aren't taking off bits for clones.
MH light is ideal. A 600watter should give you 60 clones a month no problem if you take care of the ladies.
Keeping them helathy means giving them cycles of veg nutes and then prepping them for cloning with some flower nutes (increased P for roots, decreased N is also good for cloning) and -I've made this mistake!!- Don't forget the CalMag if you are in soilless mix... my clones were struggling for the first couple runs after switching to coco because I didn't think of adding calmag, but they ended up with the symptomatic necrotic splotches of a classic Ca def.

From past experince i do find that soil would be better. But i was thinking about using a 6x6 rockwool at first then when the roots come out i'll transplant them over to a 5gal soil pot. This is so that they can get the fast growth with the rockwool and once their big enough i have the advantage of soil. Would this be fine?
I'm not much of a soil grower, what soil do i use?

For a mother that you intend to keep for a shorter amount of time and then start over with a fresh one, I love a mix of composted humus, composted cow manure, and perlite (40% perlite!!!!). It's very nice and pH is stable over time compared to a mix that does not contain humus. mmmm humus... I love that shit spread on pita bread, lol...
