bulbs are ballast specific, your lucky you haven't hurt yourself. I use conversion bulbs, better than buying two ballasts.

HID-Help me understand what Ansi Ballast type I need This is the MH bulb that it came with which is a little burnt out and really doesn't put near as much light as it should. The other kit we have is running a HPS bulb in it right now. Is it possible to have a ballast thats specifically for MH that wouldn't work with HPS?
