Heat can cause misshapen high leaves like that but they typically cup UPWARDS.
That looks to me like your plant is root bound.
How tall is it and what is the volume of dirt? You want approximately 4 L soil per foot of plant.
Other things that can cause that are overwatering and not enough ventilation.
Are you growing in kitty litter pans?
I personally think that a container that is DEEPER for its volume is a more efficient use of floor space as you can cluster plants closer together btw.

Yeah sounds rootbound... or if you are unlucky, a more serious root problem... do you let the soil get pretty dry between waterings? How's the drainage?

Left hooker sorry to hijack ur thread :wtf:
Intresting you say root related problems stinky attic are these symptoms common with root problems? I ask because i have aplant in veg showing these same symptoms but she is hydro could a severe pH problem in early veg cuase root damage in hydro? If so could it be repaired?the postman

Well I am not much of a hydro expert but plants that I have seen that are suffering from rootbound-ness or root rot show those canoe leaves, although if you had real root rot you would see other problems too. Hmmm better ask in hydro for a real answer! What I see though is that shape coming from a situation where roots can't keep up with transpiration... I've also seen it in a confined space that did not have good fresh air exchange... the far corners of my own closet seemed to breed canoe leaves like crazy until I added more fans. That's just an observation!
In lefthooker's case it's going to be harder to remedy because of the unconventional container shape... repotting is going to have to be into something like a tote bin!

Thanks stinkyattic This makes perfect sense i have dismantled my grow room in the last few week taking out the inlet fan for another project so airflow must be the problem and to think about it what i may have been putting down to pH probs can be tracked back to the removal of the fan so thanks .damn learn sommit every day:thumbsup: the postman.
again leftfthooker sorry for interupting

I think ventilation and root problems are very closely related as they both result in poor uptake of shit the plant needs!
