OK, here goes the story:

Me and a few friends decided to go out to the local lake here to do some fishing and chillin'. It was a nice day, bright and sunny, and no one around for miles...or so we thought. So anyways, we spend a good 3 - 4 hours fishing (and, smoking) and catch nothing. Mind you, this wasn't a public park or anything...just a secluded spot we had found on the lake that we thought was nice. Turns out, the game warden had been watching us. So, on our way home, he pulls us over. My friend who was driving was asked to step out of the car along with me. He asked us first if we had a fishing license. I gladly pulled mine out and show it to him. My friend, who didn't have one, was handcuffed and taken to the side and searched thoroughly by the cop. He said he had seen us smoking and had been watching us for a while, and that he had probable cause that it was marijuana due to the smell (i love weed as much as the next stoner, but damn, there's no hiding its unique scent). So, the car was searched along with all of us. My friend had about a gram in his pocket, and I had about half a gram in mine. He confiscated the weed and wrote us both a fine for possession, and my friend got an extra fine for fishing with no license.

Fucking pricks.

The charges were $565 for simple possession (first offense) and my friend had an extra $155 added for being without a license.

On top of that, he set the court date for only 2 weeks later and expects us to have the cash ready by the date.

FUCKING BULL. Who can actually work a minimum wage job AND go to school full-time and make that kind of money in that time? Definitely not me. I think he knew that very well, too.

Well, one way or another, I'm going to pay the fine, even if I have to start working overtime. That bastard isn't going to ruin me like that. I already have family and friends who said they would watch my back if I didn't make the money in time. Thank God for friends like mine. (One has already graciously lent me $100 )

Oh, and my parents now know I smoke weed, and they were perfectly okay with it...and to think I could have just sat home and smoked a bowl in private the whole time instead.

Looks like I'm just going to move to Amsterdam to avoid this pointless and outrageous drug war. Who's with me? :stoned:
