How important is a firm handshake?

Lol, umm, who cares? As long as you shake my hand at all i'm fine. I prefer a laid back shake as opposed to some stupid, defiant grip. Some guy did that to me once and I was just 'what the fuck are you doing? Let go!!'

its hard to know what im really thinkin, my brain will be tellin me to do somethin, but i wont be sure if thats what i REALLY want to do... maybe im crazy... mwahahaha...
I'm a bit like that. I dont really like fights, or arguments, but my pride is too much and i cant back down. When someone starts something with me i make sure i finish it. I think i got that from my dad though. The bastard. - I'm fucked - i dont like fighting yet i do it every time i get the chance.

But if it's just a muck around it's cool, it's just like going for a bike ride - just using a bit of energy up and then afterwards we can smoke a Jay. I wonder if it's a brit thing? LOL - beat up your friends for fun rofl.

How important is a firm handshake?

[QUOTE] hah man i think its a Texas thing bc everytime i walk into a party i gotta introduce myself and give em a handshake. I was in florida partying last year and tried to do the same thing, they looked at me like i had no head or something...oh well. Also i was a used car salesman for a year and a half, i could tell wether or not i was gonna sell you a car that day by your handshake.

No, MY balls are bigger than YOURS.

In Florida, everyone crushes your fucking hand till it oozes blood and bone marrow. But in Texas, out of the entire state of 10 Million people , not one person knows what a hand shake even is. They sniff butts. Its true, I went to this party there.

if a person doesnt put anything into the handshake then i think less of them right off. it is a first impression, you dont crush their hand but you let them know youre there. like if you dont even grip my hand i assume you are a failure as a human being. but if you snap my bones then i think you are trying to hard. better too strong than too weak though thats for sure a limp handshake is a death sentence

If I see some kid at a party I knew from grade school.. I say "oh hey whatup man" and do the.. the.. I don't even know what to call it. For lack of a better term, I guess I'll call it the negro clasp.

    Negro clasps are always fun.
    ^lmao.... negro clasp... that's classic :S2:

It's always good to have a fight and end it with a pint of larger and a joint in the car on the way home.
so that's where kraloth went.... LIP! you got some splainin to do!

I agree , that a firm handshake is the best first impression that you give to someone.Limp wristed ,dishrag shakes are considered to be lame imho.
Yeah some dudes over do it and squeeze the hell outta your hand or grab you by the fingers and snap em like twigs.Generally these peeps are overbearing bullies.
Back in the day some guys shook by interlocking thumbs with facing palms with forearms at 45 degrees. This was considered a cool shake at the time.
But the old fashioned way is the best.

Me, I don't give a shit how well somebody shakes my hand. There are waaaay more important things to judge somebody's character on. It seems important for other people, but I just don't see the point. If you're going to judge me based on how well I perform a medieval hand-oscillating tradition, then I couldn't really care less what you think of me.

You want to show me respect and get me to like you? Don't give me a firm handshake; give me a firm hug. Hugs > handshakes, any day of the week.
