    More than 500 bagseeds...?

If one had a huge number(+500) of bag seeds , what is a good method of narrowing down the numbers to 24 or so to start a grow ...The goal is to end up with at least 6-8 healthy females for flowering and maybe a mother or two

...Anyway, what is a good way to narrow down the numbers?

OK, this is what has been done so far...The thumb and finger thingy, divided the remainder into:

"dark"(+300seeds), some are almost black to very dark green/brown,

"light"(+100), some are light green/brown to almost bright light green...

Do I trash the light ones and focus on the dark?

Is there a way to know strain(sativa or indica) from just looking at the seed? I would think not, but I am still curious?

Oh yeah, the seeds are not more than 6-12 months old at the most, and have been kept in a cool dark and dry locations.

    Thanks.

Don't "get rid of" the light seeds! Yes, they are likely immature (but I've seen pale gray seeds that were mature), but it is a sin just to toss them! Plant them in a field or park somewhere. Fight global warming- PLANT ALL YOUR SEEDS! If they grow- HURRAH and maybe you get some free bud (or some kid does). In a land fill, the chances of them growing is practically nil. Give them a chance to grow.

put 100 of the darks in a cup of water. Wait 24 hours and you should have at least 20 that popped. 24 more hours you should get another 20.

sprout as many as you can. You can always get rid of them with a snip of the skizzers.

Not always true, but the bigger the seed the higher the chances of it being indica. Small seeds are sativa.

you could also help friends grow. germ as many as you can and give away the ones you can't plant yourself. i am sure you can find friends who want a little crop all there own. you also can have a contest with some of your friends and see who can grow the best plants.
