ozone creating, mold eliminating cfls?
these grow lights kill odors!
from wikipedia's CFL article
"Another variation on existing CFL technologies are bulbs with an external nano-particle coating of titanium dioxide. Titanium dioxide is a photocatalyst, becoming ionized when exposed to UV light produced by the CFL. It is thereby capable of converting oxygen to ozone and water to hydroxyl radicals, which neutralize odors and kill bacteria, viruses, and mold spores."
its in the part that talks about newCFLs thats all it said. and it certaintly was not in context to growing plants as horticluture isn't mentioned in the article as one of the uses of cfls. ( althoough i bet we buy alot of thwem. i did not for my grow but for the lamps to save energy.
wait theres more!@!!

these are what I have been using for a long time -
Air Purifiers Light Bulb
YES, they work very well, when ON - no help if the bulb is off, of course - plus, they are in the red flowering spectrum, which is good, too -

i guess my question is to those who use them, would they kill the odor so you wouldnt need a carbon scrubber?

you can't use them by themselves, for odor control, as they only work when the lights are ON ...

they work well for me for light smells, during vegging, i just started flowering...i think ill eventually need an air scrubber tho. i have 3 of them, i think im going to put one in my kitchen, which is directly above my grow room, and one in the hall outside the room.
id say they are a good investment. i could notice a difference shortly after i first put them in.
