avoiding throat burn?

ok I love to smoke, but I always get the sorest throat after. Does anybody know any tips or suggestions to smoke without frying the throat.?

What do you smoke out of and what type of bud? I usually find that it is the bud that causes burning for me. Bud that isn't cured or dried properly. Or bud that pops and sizzles because the grower didn't flush it properly.

try taking the smoke into your mouth first and holding it there for a second or so, then inhaling it. also, if you are smoking hash, you are bound to get a sore throat any way.

No it isn't! If your getting a sore throat, something is wrong. Do you suck through the herb a lot (be honest!)? Do you smoke out of a steam roller, or J's? Either of those could lead to chronic throat soreness.

Anything that causes your body to feel unhealthy cannot be good, so figure this out.

The 'easiest' way to smoke is definately either a water bong with ice water or a vap.

Yeah, like I said, something isn't right if your throat is really gettinb burned... Are you confusing smoking rock with herb? hahaha

use a bong with cold water, you can put the bong in the fridge(sp?) for a while to, works really good.

Or you can fill the entire bong up to the top with icecubes. Chills the smoke extremely well.

Usually what I do after I take a huge rip off of my pipe is I just take a huge hit, and then take a small sip of ice-water directly afterwords, while the smoke is in my lungs still. Then I hold it in for a while, continually sipping water if need-be, then I exhale and sip another sip of water. This helps a lot.

Also, something that is fun to do after you got done smoking and you have that "smoker's voice", I usually eat some ice cream. Not only does it feel cool as hell and taste great, but it helps soothe my throat too.
