I disagree with some of the posts in here. The problem *IS* marijuana.

He is not saying that he can't motivate himself. He is saying that the short term memory loss is affecting his studies. I know for a fact exactly what he is talking about. I bet ALOK can concur. Have you ever been studying and realized that all you are doing is staring at the book and thinking about something else?

I too leave my apt unlocked, leave my headlights on (had to jump it 3 times in the past month), lose my keys and generally accidentally do stupid shit.
If you continue to smoke daily, after about 6 months, it will become less apparent and you will be able to study and function. I think the 'stop and start' trend is what is fucking you up. My worst problems arose while I was doing the same thing...a regular but not daily smoker.

Either get on the train or stay off. Its the side effects of marijuana that are causing you to lose your concentration. If you don't want to quit, maybe try to find a different strain that doesn't do you like that. Some pot i've smoked will literally give me a 15 second attention span in which I cannot get anything done. Others I can focus on one thing for a long time and gives a 'clear' high.

Try smoking sativa strains. I still dont think it's the weed though. Just an excuse.

marijuana improves my ability to concentrate and not act out in class...acting out still sounds fun sometimes, but since I've got a buzz, it's like...why do that, I can just sit here and do my work..beats the hell out of ritalin..

weed is what you make of it mate...if its affecting your grades, don't smoke so much! you seem like you already know the answer to your problem.

Good deal. Agree with lip, try a more sativa strain. There is one strain (can't think of the name, LIP?) its referred to as the 'thinking mans weed'.

Don't get me wrong, weed doesn't make you worthless. I can rebuild a small block 100% stoned and do many things....But if i need to learn and 'retain' information....it can be difficult for me.

Well, i'd assume its going to be landrace, so pure sativa. Maybe Durban? not sure if that is pure though. But for sure, sativa strains will give you an up high making you want to do stuff, not like the couchlock of indica dom strains [although saying that i smoke indica 80% of the time and i still go to work, and do a good job, all whilst being off my nut]

But weed should always come last.

Everyone is different. Honestly I think better when I'm high, you might be just the opposite. Just give it a rest when you have to do things important.
