    Need help with setup -lighting

Can i start off my plants using those energy saving light bulbs they only use 11 watt power and give out 100 watt light. I plan to use 2 of them under a reflector in a chest of draws for the first 12 weeks 18 hours light a day and then put them under this light (refer to site for pic) for 8 weeks 12/12

Will the energy saving bulbs be any good and will my other light be any good for the last part of the plants growth? (for a budget grow room)

    Howdy bigjon,

All of the lights that you mention, are good for vegging, but not so good for flowering. That mother plant kit looks pretty interesting, but it's intended for maintaing veg growth indoors, and not for the flowering stage. You need to git at least a 250-300 watt hps light for good buds.

not to sure i could get one that powerful of a light due to small space (single wardrobe floor to ceiling just under a metres depth and about half a metre wide) not to sure of heat probs and only want one plant at a time in flowering stage and about 4 in veg stage. I think the most i could get would be 160watt as i cant put loud fans and stuff on as its next to my mates bed

    Howdy bigjon,

Well I understand what you mean by powerful light,it would require some fans that would be noisey ,you can use a less powerful hps , I use to git outdoor hps security lights and modify them for use indoors,I used 2, 70 watters, and they did add to the heat. You'll need a seperate place to veg and another for flower,in the space for flower, you'll have to make it light-proof for when the lights are out. As for your mate--git him some ear-plugs ...lol.

    Howdy bigjon,

Well that would probably do it,but you'd be better off to have one of each kind during flower, because more light is always better at producing bigger, better buds and because maintaining minimal veg growth is desirable during flowering, but with most of the emphasis placed on the flowering spectrum.

    Howdy bigjon,

Yup,basically, but what I was hoping for,was that you'd be able to have one whole light for veg and one whole light for flower, where you would use both in flowering..so ya could 'pour' on the light-so to speak. The more light you can give em during flower-the better..use all your lights for flower..but if you have only one light-it might just be best to go all flowering bulbs and keep an eye out for any signs of the plants needing more veg light.

do you reckon id need a fan with this light (http://www.growell.co.uk/p/2147/Gro..._Plant_Kit.html) in a small area if so would a little desk fan on the floor with a small vent hole at the top do.

id original was gonna start with this light till i got it (the plant) into flowering then change the bulbs into flowering bulbs then use the 2 energy saving bulbs in some draws (stealth veg room) and the other light was gonna be used in the wardrobe(flowering room).
