Different weed at different times of the year.
Well, I've been a daily smoker now for a year and a month, so obviously I have purchased cannabis quite a bit. Now that it's been over a year since I started, I'm noticing similar patterns of the weed that is available.
In my experiences, this is what I've noticed.
When I first started, a year and a month ago, almost everything regularly available was either an imported sativa, or some sativa hybrid. Then in the summer, the quality of weed improves but usually is 5 dollars more.
Then, in the fall, finding sativas become extremely difficult. No longer are compressed imported sativas common, but now, nice fat indica buds are everywhere. Also, now homegrown dank, and other strains are becoming more and more available.
Then, by February, indicas are almost non-existant unless you buy a strain which is a hybrid, and the weed you can find is again that compressed imported sativas.
I figured out how this works. At least I think it's how. Sativa's finish later. So in the late winter/spring we're smoking all of the sativas that were harvested in the late fall/early winter. All of it starts to run out around mid summer, which is why prices seem to go up a bit. Then, in the fall, guess what, the indicas are ready to be harvested and produce nice fat buds, and can be grown in the United States easily. They don't have to be grown outdoors for a long time until ready to harvest. Then the indica runs out, just in time for the new harvest of sativa's.horror business Reviewed by horror business on . The only time I'm dry, is when I have no money. Otherwise, I can always get some type of cannabis. Also during the "dry period" in the summer, top quality weed is available, but usually at prices around 75 an 8th, that people don't want to pay for or don't even know it's in town, because they have shitty connections.

Our dry period in Cincinnati is from early-mid November until early December... the rest of the time, the buds I get merely depend on the dealer. I can see your logic, how that might work out, I think the dealing that goes on in Cinci is more personal (unless it's imported mexican) so things are pretty constant.

Yeah, I'm talking about getting landrace sativas and pure indicas, not dry periods.
