When all the hotshot powdered wig dudes got together to agree on the terms written in the constitution one brave soul stood up and stated that freedom should extend to natives, blacks, and every other man woman and child. This means despite so many years of struggle the idea of what freedom truely means was there since day one, unfortunaly the majority of the bigshots responded by shooting down this argument and continued to sign a substandard constitution that effectivly withheld the rights of many.

Its not uncommon to hear people boast about how free the United States is, however, unfortunaly thoes people are wrong. When the pilgrims came to the United States, they DID in fact come in search of freedom, but not true freedom, but instead freedom from a politically and religiously oppressive monarch. Whats important to understand about this is that although they were in factsearching for freedom, but the freedom they were searching for was freedom for the protestans not anyone else!

Thus since its conception the supposed Freedom in the United States has been one big lie! The whole give me your tired, your poor, your sick thing is just a load of crap!

PS - i kno my spelling sucks... get over it
Your theory about the "pilgrims" is not accurate. The idea that they all were seeking religious freedom is a common misconception. Of the one hundred ten Mayflower passengers, forty four called themselves "Saints", and were seeking religious freedom. They were protestants, but left the Church of England to set up their own organization - which was illegal. Sixty-six Mayflower passengers, called the "Strangers", were not part of the religious separatist movement, nor is there any evidence that they had any problems with England. One of my ancestors was John Howland. He arrived as an indentured servant to John Carver, who was chosen to be the governor of the new colony at Plymouth. George W. Bush is also a descendant of John Howland, and a 12th cousin of mine through this genealogical relationship.
