Cant say that I actually dumpster dive everyday but if I pass by something in the alley thats off some value I grab it. Lawnmowers, snowblowers, and a whole lot more. Also when I was working in a dollar store a while ago I couldnt believe the shit I had to throw out. Brand new clothes, all kinds of shit especially if the box or container was damaged, only problem was I couldnt take anything per the company rules but if i could have, shit my trunk would have been "filt to the hilt". From bent up boxes of unopened tissue to boxes of floor tiles. If you really want to find plenty of good shit check the dollar stores the night before trash day, everything gets tossed the night before. GO FREEGANISM..oh yeah lets not forget craigslist, one of my best friends moved and has supplied his entire apartment with free shit. He has not paid a dime for anything he has and he has some nice stuff.

The thread that would not die! Muhahahahaha!
I love Craigslist. My latest bargains: A 12 amp Bissell bagless vacuum for 20$, and a Fridgidaire 5.5 cu. ft. chest freezer that was clean as a whistle for 50$, two new in the box 400W power supplies for 15$. Also a queen size boxspring and bedframe for FREE!

Yo man. I've took a leak behind those dumpsters-sorry to say but in extreme(drunk)situations. And I've seen those maggots and flies everywhere on those things and it would freak me out so bad that I would almost piss on myself every time! But due to the cause(Freegans)I'll always be conscious of the idea that I could be pissing on someone's meal.

Taking and eating food out of a dumpster that has had rotting food, flies, maggots and god knows what else is disgusting. All that bacteria and germs could seep through the packaging, also your touching the packaging then eating the food with your hands. You get seriously ill from doing this. I mean come on, we live in the year 2007 and know about germs and bacteria, this is shit that homeless people do.

We have money so we can buy food not take it from the trash. Anyone who eats from a dumpster needs to take a health and safety class.

 I tried to get into dumpster diving about 2 years ago but everytime I went out and started looking through dumpsters I got all paranoid. And I never found anything good. But I sometimes go on the dumpsterworld.com message boards and read people's crazy stories. Like this one guy who was actually inside a dumpster looking around and somebody came to dump some trash so the guy came flying out of the dumpster and ran off. I wonder what that person must have thought ha.

i take showers every day. i make love to my significant other, i brush my teeth twice a day, i go to college and get good grades, i wash my clothes, i smoke pot every damn day, i shave my legs avery day and i like to dance. i go bowling on the weekends and i paint my nails. i ride my bike with friends and i take various psychadelics from time to time

i'm also a pretty crazy activist. yeah, i'm crazy in that respect....i take pride in it.i got to a different club meeting every day of the work week, United Greens, Environmental Students Association, Students for a Democratic Society, Youth for Socialist Action, Saling club. i go dumpster diving weekly, i go to protests, i banner drop, i stand on the corner of camden ave and college ave protesting for peace every damn sunday, i write to my representatives and i lobby, i speak my opinions loudly and i imagine a better society. i recycle and compost everything, i eat and buy organic, i am a vegetarian. i donate money to countless organizations, i volunteer my translating skills at free medical clinics.....i do a lot, let me brag for a moment. in doing all this, i am improving society in a small way.

and i don't hunt animals. that's cruel. humans can live without meat with modern advances in food. if you eat meat, that's okay....its your choice. if you hunt and can provide for yourself your own means of food, thats great...keep at it but dont go eating meat from farmed animals, thats counterproductive.

you may not agree with me. you may think i am a dirty hippy. but that doesnt matter. what matters is that my filthy dumpster diving escapades are indeed helping YOU, yes YOU and the rest of this disappointing society. you dont need to go dumpster diving. but just using less napkins and giving that homeless dude your spare change is not enough, its NOT ENOUGH! being responsible means doing more. i've dedicated a good part of my life to making up for the lack of irresponsible humans out there by going to the extremes to improve society. you can't just sit around and bitch, DO SOMETHING! (i'm only 19, surprise).

anyway, i find a lot of you disappointing. i'll die knowing that i've contributed significantly to society. the rest of u standing idly by....have fun being useless.

and what does it all mean at the end of the day? nothing because theres always that fat ass little kid in every store, of every city, of every state of america scarfing down some meat and redoing it the next week.

have you ever read a book called evasion from crimethinc?

dumpster diving sounds interesting to me, to like find free cool shit, but not food. humans were meant to eat meat. being a vegan is one thing, but then diving in dumpsters for it is just a whole nother story to me.

i tried it once but i didn't know what i was doing and was to scared to actually get inside the dumpster.
