Britain takes case against Iran to U.N.

UNITED NATIONS - Britain took its case to free its 15 sailors and marines held by Iran to the United Nations on Thursday, asking the Security Council to support a statement that would "deplore" Tehran's action and demand their immediate release.

But Security Council diplomats said the statement circulated by Britain's U.N. Mission is likely to face problems from Russia and others because it says the Britons were "operating in Iraqi waters" â?? a point that Iran contests.

The British move came as Iran rolled back on its promise to release Faye Turney, the sole female British sailor among the captives, and a senior Iranian official suggested all of them may be put on trial.

Iran's military chief, Gen. Ali Reza Afshar, said that because of the "wrong behavior" of the British government, "the release of a female British soldier has been suspended," the semiofficial Iranian news agency Mehr reported.

The Britions lied about WMD .... and they have been working with the illegitimate bush regime to "create" a reason to go to war with Iran ....
... I have no doubt the British were indeed in Iranian waters .... just as US aircraft kept violating their air space a year or so ago ....

....and psycho ... just because we don't want another war for profit doesn't mean we support Iran .... that's just a buzz word you bushies like to spout because you have no facts to back your statements.

They didn't fool me the first time .... they sure as hell aren't going to fool me now. :hippy:

Yipper, just saw on TV the Brits marching down their main streets shouting down with Iran.....OOPS, got that backwards. But the Iranians are the "nice ones".

I say we follow your friends lead and have a massive protest with people screaming death to Iran, burn up some of their flags, etc.....hell, you all think that this is the peaceful way to act.....why not?

Actually it's depleted down to about 9000IR:1USD. Happy investing!

Oh, did I tell ya the exchange has dropped a bit over 200 points now. With the economic growth (that isn't happening) and the oil contracts with several countries (which isn't happening) and also the revival of their agriculture industry (which isn't happening) their currency is getting stronger. Bet the people can't wait to receive them oil checks for 3 times the average annual income. LMAO....but it isn't happening, right?
