You could do that, but I would be worried about the hot cherry on the joint melting the plastic. Easy solution though.

Just take an empty pop bottle, take the lid, and make a hole, using a drill bit of whatever, make a hole about the same size of the end of the joint. Light the joint, stick the end of the cherry, facing downward, screw the lid on, and let the bottle fill with smoke.

You can toke the joint at the same time too if you want. The bottle will catch the drifting smoke, while you toke on the other end. Once the joint is burned, inhale the smoke in the bottle.

I dont have a bowl, and hate making them out of water bottles and tinfoil, since burning tinfoil is very bad for you. Joints are great, but you waste alot because its always burning, and I need time to breathe and get fresh air.
