Please give your suggestions/ CLOSET vs. CABINET

So for those that didn't see my earlier post, I'm converting my 2 door closet into a grow space. The closet is 6 feet wide, 8 feet tall and 2 feet in depth. It runs along my wall, rather than a typical square like closet. I'm not too worried about space even though its only 2 feet in depth as I can just have them running the length of the closet. I could easily fit 5-7, 2-3 ft plants in there comfortably. I see lots of help and questions in this section mostly pertaining to cabinets. Are they better than closet growing, or are they more or less meant for people with very little space, or no closable area? Should I bother trying to build a cabinet in my closet or just use the closet?

Right now I have a 2 shoplights in the closet right now. 2 40w cool whites, and 2 40w soft whites totaling 12,600 lumens. I am also gonna hang several CFLs down inbetween the plants to help out with the lower sections. I'm only planning on having a max of 3 plants at any given time and plan on them being around 2 1/2-3 feet tall at the end of their bloom cycle. The venting issue isn't the greatest it could be, but I will be able to get pleanty of air flow via fans, hepa-air filters and being able to keep the closet open. I've also devised a way to have air flowing with the closet doors closed, simply using black tarp and an exhaust fan. I will be using bloom fuel, super bloom, superthrive, petes 20/20/20 and several others that will be used for stress reasons and other health issues.

Does is sound like I'm gonna run into a lot of problems? Any ideas that could further help me? Any words of wisdom with what I've mentioned above to try and avoid? I'm not expecting amazing results.. I am expecting more than a cola and a few buds here and there. I did one other project in a closet a few years ago and did just about everything wrong.. wrong nutes, if any, no air circulation, not enough lights, etc. and even then I came out with some not too great, but not too bammer yeild.

Any and ALL advice is encouraged and waiting.

The two main advantages of cabinet growing is stealth (if you make it that way) and easier modifications to the grow chamber. I.E. it's easier to cut an intake hole in a cabinet rather than a closet.

So that should answer your question about what you should do.

I think you will do just fine. Having said that, somethings you'll want to have before you start: a way to ck ph (and way to adjust ph) and a way to ck your temps. Also, you may want to mix the lamps in the shoplight fixtures to get a more even distribution of the different colors.

If you run into problems, there is lots of help here.

The two links in my signature show both cab and a closet grow... same exact equip ie lights etc that were in the cab were put in the closet. Compare for yourself... but i basically trippled the overall yield per grow moving from a cab to a closet on the same equip. More space to grow in is always a good thing imho.

Cabinets are great for stealth, and easier to do outside/inside/structure modification, and unless you own your dwelling, you cant exactly modify the closet (i rent and it does suck because i would LOVE to punch a hole through the one side of the closet to run ventilation but i cant)

Honestly, no one way is better than another... Ultimately, it boils down to what works best for you and your situation

Good luck w/ your grows!!!
