I just got the go-ahead to go back to the gym and do weights again. For nearly two months, I've only been allowed to do mild walking and no weight-training, and it's been driving me nuts. My heart valve infection shows every evidence of being cleared up, so I'm going to kick butt again. I typically do 35 - 40 minutes of cardio (in circuits, not just on one machine) and 25 - 30 minutes of strength training, concentrating on different muscle groups each time, four to five times a week. I try and catch a very early Saturday morning yoga class, generally, and stretch a lot even on the other days. Wish I had time for some type of dance class, but I don't right now. I'm a little obsessive about exercise. It's the best way I know of to manage depression, anxiety and stress.
