Some info please?

I been reading alot on here and have a few quick qestions.

Woundering about 6 plants growin in soil lst no topping 2x4x8 size

I got a 5 foot floro light with 2 tubes and room for 2 CFLs at the ends that my dad used to grow roses and stuff under. Is this good enuff for vegging or should I switch over to 6 or 12 CFLs? im sorry it was free i dont know the watt of the light ill check the bulbs again latter see if i can find anything.

Also for flowering my freind got a 400w mh shop light with balist and reflector the kind ya see at walmart on the celing he gave it to me and i wanted to know will the normal bulb we found in it work or should i track one down on ebay? If i took a picture of the bulb could someone tell me what type of bulb i need to replace it or should i sell the shop light to my other freind and just use CFL for my flowering with the fl tubes i have?

MH bulbs are not for flowering but for veg. Dont know about your fluors without knowing the wattage, but Im sure you could at least start with them and upgrade if the plants look stringy. I doubt it would be good for 6 plants for anymore than the first couple of weeks. The 400W MH would be good though.

For 6 plants you will need a lot of light and much more space than you have available. I would suggest growing less plants.

The good news is you have plenty of vegetative light! That 400watt MH will be more than enough for your grow space. The only problem I see is heat issues. You have to keep that MH cool or you'll burn your plants.

You have to pay close attention to your light spectrum. It's not about the amount of light you give the plant. It's all about what kind of light you give it and how much of that light is active PGL (aka PAR).

I'de suggest that since you have a 400watt MH you mine as well save up some money and get yourself a 400watt HPS to go along with it. If keeping the heat level down isn't an issue I highly recommend using both at the same time.

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT USABLE LIGHT FOR PLANTS DEMINISHES BY 1/2 FOR EVERY FOOT OF DISTANCE IT TRAVELS!

So if you have 20000Lumens RATED and your light is 2ft away from your plant/s, you're looking at only 5000Lumens reaching your plant.

Cant work out how you are going to use 5ft tubes in that space. As the dude said invest in a hps and you are set.the fluro tubes will do for exellent for clones.Follow the advise on this site and you will grow monster buds be safe the postman.

I guess i should cut back to 4 plants maybe 2. Im going to sell the mh for one of the mh/hps lights I seen on ebay I think. The ballist on my shop light is attached to the light and iv seen that will be a huge pain in the ass to cool.
right now I have 5 of thoes safty blankets the ones that reflect 90% of heat and light back 2mm mylar they are like 6 feet by 4 feet will one of thoes be good enuff or should i double them up or probly any light that makes it threw the first one is lost? i also got the bc bloom kit the whole set of 6 bottles I was just gonna do a 25% mix the first time and then feed water water feed water water... till i get it up to 100% then keep up the feed water water is the right?? Do i use the same strips to test the ph of my soil id use for hydroponics?
one more thing can i just stick my rockwool cubes in the dirt once the clones are rooted?

ooo ya about the long light its on a huge angle right now so is my plant super low stress training
