    New Kind Of SCROG?

Whatâ??s everyone think of this - We have SOG and SCROG etc.. but what about GOG (Glass of green)? I was thinking a bout this last night, kept me awake for hours! I like the idea of SCROG but I donâ??t like the stress it causes the plant or the extra time it takes to grow Or the topping etc..! So iv come up with (what I think is?) a new version.

Grow your plants normally till the 6weeks in then place them in a new square pot (SEE PIC 2). Cut a deep grove down one face of the pot and plant your plant with the stem and body of your plant positioned horizontally through the pot. (SEE PIC 2)

Iv seen some amazing grows on this site but iv seem some shoddy SCROGâ??S! Theyâ??ve been so ineffective at keeping the canopy level or training plants successfully.

Next part of this method. now your plants have all been planted horizontally place a wide perspects Screen of over your plants. Drill small holes through out the screen to allow the passage of air. (See Pic 2) Then just let your plants grow to the screen - thereâ??s know where for them to wonder off to so thereâ??ll train them selves. (SEE PIC 3)

And there we have it. Light can get to ALL of your plant.

The canopy level will be 100% even.

    plants will train flat naturally.

Plants can still be easily watered!

And no topping, training or stress is placed on the plants.

After week 3-4 of flowering (or the stretch faze is over) remover the perspects and let buds develop till harvest! This is also useful for people with height issues. (SEE PIC 4)

    New Kind Of SCROG?

This would work tom. I do something sillar to heep my scrog even i use very tight wire mesh and have the plants grow under ir in a similar way untill the 4th week 12/12 when stretch is near done then i start cutting the holes on the screen mesh larger to allow the buds to come through it keeps the scrog neat and even but this would probibaly work better wth the glass especialy oudroor scrog i will give this a try this year and wee can see if it does the job .thats if you dont mind me stealing ur idea lol I have sent a request to ur yahoo messneger for you to add me to ur contacts mate so if you wanna have a private chat give me a shout . be safe the postman.

    New Kind Of SCROG?

Hi Dave! feel free to nick the idea! im debating weather or not to test this on my current grow or not. However iv just transplanted for the final time. This design seems to make so much more sense than a normal sgrog. I wonder what Justaseed would think about this. You there man?

On another note are any downsides to this method? Does any1 think this is a happier scrog?

Dave iv added you! had a quick chin wag with your wife!

you can LST the plant parallel to the soil and will get the same effect... lst from 2 weeks in and by the time your plant would be going under the glass, the lst'd would be a bush already.

true! but that still evolves stress and bending! All you do this way is turn the pot when ur ready. even takes up less space, so u can grow more and when the time comes remove unwanted males!

neat idea, I like it because you can take the plants out of the scrog at any time without disturbing them, since they aren't tangled.
I want to see an experimental grow done this way!

it's a neat idea. I'm scrogging myself and yes, it is messy as hell (though its only my first time).

I agree with whoever said to train the plants before you put under the glass. That way you would already have some nice side shoots. If you just grew it straight up then turned it sideways your side growth would be lacking and not produce as much bud. I know you want to avoid stress, but LST is really not that bad, especially if done slowly (a week or so for the initial bend).

also, a small thing, your glass will block some of the light. and i'm not sure how much buds would like growing directly into a pane of glass.

there's only one way to find out, so hurry up and try it out, i'd love to see it.
