And yea a LS1 in a 240...INSANE!! I've seen pictures..never got a chance to see one in real life though...I'm not proud of my 4 banger..lol..I'd love to drop a rb25dett in it (6 cyl twin turbo) but I doubt I'll have that kinda money anytime soon... But my KA24de (the pos 4 cyl) makes an impressive amount of tourqe..which I love..lol.. truck motor + light ass car = not fast but it'll smoke the tires...

and yeah the 8-10 sounds alot more likely than 5..lol..my 240's only gettin like 15 right now..the knock sensor isn't hooked up and it's running like shit (no power..eats gas.ect ect...)

I myself am building a 350 sbc for my 85 monte carlo ss, i blew the 305 in it after doin 160+ wholy fuck was that car insanely fast, it has 2.08 rear end in it, open header, with some n-50's in the back, with the rear breaks unhooked, could blow some smoke too, with this 350 its gonna kick some ass, i have it all stripped out for the track, also i got a 77 F-100 stepside shortbed, i got a 351W in it, with a 3 speed, the pickup was originally a 300 6 and dropped that out for a 302, blew that up got a 351, blew that one up and got this one for 500, i can pull the front wheels up with that. then i got an 80 CJ7 jeep for the offroading and mudding, but im getting a civic here soon.

i do have to give it to them tuners, shitload of power out of a 4 banger, and still get better fuel milage than any of my gas suckers. I'm big into cars and stuff, so im dippin my toes in a little of everything

i have $7k in all to spend on a car, and a sound system and whatever mods i put on it


so i'm thinking about going to a car auction soon, and putting down $3-$5k on a car

i've thought about 4-cylinders etc. as they're pretty cheap and last awhile


any other ideas, this will be my first car. So it cant be something too pricey to insure, but i want something that wont have trouble getting up hills etc.

if you guys want some big power, get a diesel pickup. they cost a little bit more, but they are cheaper to maintain, and come stock with a turbo, we have a 98 dodge 3500 dually with the 5.9 12 valve cummins diesel, with a cold air and 4 inch exaust, that thing will set you back like none other.

actually a 240 or 260 would be one of the only imports i'd ever drive. with an LS1 dropped in of course . just dont brag about 4 bangers making power, because they dont.

Yes I hate imports too . Much rather have a 496 or 540 chevy . But you're wrong w/ your post here . I've seen 800-900 hp 4 bangers in frontwheel drive b/s cars , crx's n stuff . bumping 8.50-8.60 at 150-160 mph in the 1/4 mi. And thats fukn crazy fast . They suck , poor turbo motors are wrung out in no time . Who wants to rebuild a damn motor every 5-6 runs ? Not me man , once a season at my house LOL .

i love cars and used to be a car meet frequent until our meets got shut down. i know a little bit about cars and know just about everything there is to know about nissan VG30E engines. i had a friend who swapped a VG30E from a Nissan Z31 into a Mazda RX-7 because he wrecked the Z. So im a pretty cool car chick who loves import cars especially.

there are plenty of hondas that are running 400 hp daily driven. all you need is a good tune, and they will last a long time. when you start getting detonation, and boost creep thats when you have problems. ive shut alot of people up around here who thought they had a fast car with my 2000 SI, and i dont have it turbo'ed yet.:thumbsup:
