i love cars. i used to be one of them import haters till i did a head job on a 240sx. the guy didnt pay me so i ended up with the title. i decided to see what i could do with it and now i love imports.
this little nissan was faster tha most american cars on the road, the exceptions of course were things like vettes. never let me down i won a crap lod of money on it, that it till the locals confinscated it for street racing. so now i got me a 2001 mitsi eclipse gt. it aint super fast but will hold its own.
my first car was a 70 nova with a 350 ran a 13.0 firdt time i ever took it to the track. it was a mild street car, didnt need it any faster i was in highscool and would have ended up killin myself. my next was a 67 mustang coupe with a 289 hi po, ill never own another ford.
ive also built a 660 hp buick turbo t, 83 mustang with a 800 hp 351w, 750 hp 64 belvadere 440. not to mention the numerous restorations and roadsters ive built.
im a mechanic by trade and been racin as long as i can remember. i specialize in transmissioins.
but as far as the argument for or againt the imports, well with honda plants in ohio and most of domestic cars shipping parts from overseas there aint no such thing as imports or domestics anymore.

I'm a car nut, love F1 too. I've got an advanced driving licence [meaning i can drive very fast very safely] but i cant justify spending alot of money on a sports car, so i've got what makes sense, a 2006 [march31st 06 plate] 6 gear Ford Mondeo Estate, 2.0 litre, Turbo Diesel Commonrail Injection [TDCi], and aload of extras [that i didnt pay for] in panther black. 6 CD changer, subs, alloys, scotchguarded fabric interior, a/c.
I paid 13k for it all, and it only had 2000 miles on the clock, and all the journeys were logged coz it was an ex company car.
And it's got some serious poke- while not guzzling all my diesel up.
During the week though i drive a Ford Escort 55 Van or a Transit. Depending what i feel like.
I run em ALL on marine diesel [it's free for me] haha! I cant do that for much longer though, because they want to start dying marine diesel white so the boatyards cant use it for the vans [which is EXACTLY what i do!]
I'm not a fan of American cars at all, their cornering is non exsistent. Suspension is SHIT. The ONLY thing i like [you could say love] about American cars is the engine. Lovely V8's. I love me a good burble, i mean LOVE!
I did have a Ford Focus ST [I posted about it, and i got abit confused. At first i called it a focus, and then changed it to fiesta but it WAS a focus, they look abit too similar now!]
Thats a 2.5 litre petrol 6 gear, and it was modified. Turbo. The thing went like a fucking rocket - you'd be doing 135 without realising it! [Bit naughting of me eh? Nearly double the national top speed limit.
Only had that for 2 weeks though, i was borrowing it from my cousin.
I love my cars. My dealer has a fucking maserati coupe! I've driven that too [illegally, i had no insurance]
The pics of the vans are from google - couldnt be bothered to take pics of em. And the pic of the mondeo is mine with me in the driving seat from when i bought it. [you cant see me though ]

Gearheads will always be gearheads no matter what kinda cars they are into. Thankfully most of the rice in my area is GONE now. You will hear a whining fart can every now and then. But most of the riceboys couldnt afford to keep those POS'S on the road. Once they realized that they were actually "Slow and Tedious" most of the fanboys gave up. I have an 03 civic. When I first got it, people actually revved up on me at stoplights. Mine is still unmodded and it is still on the road. Hoping to get at least another 15 years out of it.
