Hah i have amini cherlock as well. It just came back from a year long vacation around everyones house that i know...when it was returned it was as black as the ace of spades. It was a real bitch to clean, but your best bet is letting it sit in boiling water to loosen up the tar, then scraping it with a paperclip/pipecleaner/anything you can find (my girlfriends hairclips) until its clean. Worked a treat for me, except for some ridiculously hard to reach places.

alot of people like to use other stuff to dissolve the tar but i dont much fancy putting rubbing alcohol in something i'm going to be smoking out of...call me weird but hey.

    Have a Good One!

rubbing alcohol and salt in a ziploc bag. shake it, shake it, shake it some more. then rinse with hot water. repeat if nessary. salt is the abbrasive to break all the tar loose and it will not dissolve. dont worry about smoking the alcohol, it evaporates very quickly without a trace.

Yeah, as stated above, use Rubbing Alcohol/Isopropanol Alcohol (99%, not the 70% stuff) and soak your piece in that. Shake it if you can.

After a short 15-20 minute soak, rinse it out really really well with near boiling water/really hot water. There will probably be chunks in there that need to be broken up, so use a pipe cleaner or a long toothpick and break it up.

Then after all that crap tar is out of there, rinsie it out again with really hot water to fully get the alcohol out. It will taste like brand new.

That's how I clean mine, but it can be a messy, sticky job. I only do it if I really, really need to.
