lol ok so ive allways thought american "high schools" in general were like ...well like popularity battlegrounds,

not in a bad way its just when ever i see a tv program from america the teenagers are allways DEEPLY worried about their rep' or how popular they are. like that show "8 simple rules?" or like that cordilia girl in that old buffy the vampire slayer show?

just wondering if american schools are really like that, its wierd cos when i was younger in school i wished i could go to an american school because it looked so new and exciting in all those shows,

so yeah gimme your perspective on your school what are the halls like at lunch time? are there the social rumours? do the girls get that obsessed with popularity? :s4: :yippee:

The TV shows usually overplay and exaggerate the stereotypes but yes, there is alot of popularity contests and jocks and nerds and shit like that

Yes, it's really like that, but not everywhere. That's your "typical" high school but like some private schools and small town schools are a little different. My high school was like that, but people aren't as outright bitchy as they are in movies. I think "Mean Girls" was the most like my high school... like, there was drama, but none of it was really important or overblown, it's all behind your back and shit.

here in los angeles it is like that
not many kids care about learning

if you dress good,act right,and kick it with other cool heads
then your days will be filled with fun [parties,girls ,drugs]

good luck studying on friday night by yourself

fuck schools here in la for kids
theres more a chance your kids will learn more bad than good

my school is definately not like any tv shows. but we do have a few little groups but they pretty much even on popularity.

yea my school is not like that at all. It's weird cause all the "cliques" crisscross, and everyone hangs out with each other. And all those movies are really overplayed, usually with the actors being in their 20s or something haha.

yeah my school was kind of like that for the more popular groups. for the less popular groups there was more intermixing. I offended the kids in the popular group and ended up hanging out with the pot heads and theatre kids for all 4 years.
