question regarding seeds from a hermie

    Eh mrberrys!
Okay the first question to ask is, HOW did they get to be hermied?
Are you aware of any stress that you put your plants through to make them grow sax?
Because if the answer is yes, it's actually a GOOD thing.
See, the herm trait is heritable, so the offspring will behave silimarly under similar conditions. If you fix the problem you had that cuased herms in the first place, you might get none at all the next time, and have plain ol females.
But if they went herm for no apparent reason, or you can't fix whatever problem you had, your results will be similar next time.
As for 90% females, yup, but it's even higher, closer to 99%.

question regarding seeds from a hermie

in my opinion, hermaphroditic plants should be trashed, they are infusing the future generations with a very undesirable trait - similar permanent damage has been caused by indiscriminate breeding, that's why the really great landraces have virtually disappeared from the planet, and most of these modern hybrids can't hold a candle to our old sativas - my advice: grow regular seeds, and cull the males, your patience will pay off in the long run - :smokin:

question regarding seeds from a hermie

well mrberrys I really appreciate the offer, but I'm already swamped in genetics and not even able to grow freely because of ongoing ex boyfriend court drama, lol! I swear we could go on judge Judy.... aargh...
The heat is a very possible culprit for giving you hermies! So next time, keep it cooler, and check carefully for herms... you may get lucky!

say u got a hermie due to a light leek and it produced very mild amounts of seeds.... could you use them and get females? or would they just be hermies?

question regarding seeds from a hermie

okay so when and if you do decide to grow those seeds, and you have your heat and light leaks fixed, if you see any herms at all at that point, as Frank says, they ARE crap genetics and need to be trashed.
thanks for the support! it's almost over!

question regarding seeds from a hermie

    Sup Mr. B ?
I too asked Stinky Q's about this .
I paid 144.00 for these genetics . I try not to look at it as buying beans .
I intentionally was mean to just 1 plnt. till it had 10-15 male flowers and took the pollen from it and pollenated another plnt. as to hopefully lessen the likeliness of more hermies . If you go and use the beans from a self pollenated plnt. the likliness of hermies is greater .
Well see how Marcass makes out lol . He's my guinea pig .
So far they look great though . Just try to keep stress down to a dull roar -n- you should be cool . Both FWF -n- Stinky are right though = sketchy genepool .
    Peace
    Crispi
