Fox Farm Original potting soil

Anyone try this soil I have a bag which I was thinking of using for my first grow?.....It has pretty good stuff.....worm castings...perlite...guano...oyster shells.........

Not sure what you mean by "original" but I use their "Ocean Forest" and will from now on! Close to harvest now after my first experience using it and must say this is the best I've ever done in the 20-some years of indoor growing! In the past I used Whitney Farms (NOT the Uncle Malcom's brand tho...it sucked) but it's hard to find where I'm at now so fortunately I stumbled across Fox Farms Ocean Forest! Sure it's expensive but what isn't with this hobby/therapy?

thanx Madeline for responding it says planting soil on the bag but it basically has the same ingredients as the ocean forest...

FoxFarm products are from here in humboldt county, they have their office in arcata and the soil is produced north of that in a small town called trinidad.

The ocean forest is a newer line of their soils and I have had some personal bad experiences with it and found the reason why, altho the plants grew great in it the flavor was seriously compromised after doing some research via people in the know, it turns out (fox farm wont say this but people working there and the 'soils source' confirm it) about a year ago they were getting left over soil from arcata's Sun Valley Floral Farm, and it was wasting alot of crops.

I got lots of ocean forest bags and they are up for grabs. I will stick with Power Flower and add my own supplements after that.

They do have some other great products like their nutes, etc. But after seeing and tasting the results when each crop is worth $, I wont go back to their soils.

Sorry to hear about your experience but am glad to say I haven't had that problem. I took a test bud from a nearly ripe plant a few days ago and it tastes every bit as good as her mother did when grown outdoors under the Arizona sun last summer...fortunately! The only difference I've noticed is I'm getting a few mushrooms growing in the soil used in the cloning chamber and I've never had shrooms before, LOL. No biggie and not causing any harm but it's just kind of weird to have shrooms coming up with the clones!
I wish we were closer and I'd definitely take you up on your dirt deal as I've had nothing but unusually good success with it. Is Power Flower a commercially available product or just local? I've never heard of it but seeing as how I'm nearly out of the Fox Farms and in need of new soil anyway I might as well try some other recommended high quality soil.
