I know the 5 minute edit time has been discussed a million times before... but is there any easy way to change the 5 minute window to where if you go back and click the edit button at 4.5 minutes, you can still sit and edit your post for as long as you keep the window open? Wow that was a windy sentence... Anyway, I understand the point of the 5 minute window, but it is a pain when you are trying to play beat the clock. So, in summation, is there anyway to allow us to edit our post for longer than 5 minutes as long as we click the edit button before 5 minutes Rating: 5

Why is there a 5 minute time limit to begin with?

I've been to a lot of forums and I've never seen such a thing, so I'm just wondering why impose such a limit?

One of the main reasons for the 5 minute edit is because of all the backbiting and tattle-taling that goes on each and every day. If the edit time was increased a member could edit his BS away therefore making it even a bigger pain in the butt to resolve. that is one of the older answers that have been passed down.
