6 Foot plant, In Perlite Mix, 8-10 pounds, No PH Checks?? How Does This Work???

A friend of mine knows a grower who claims he pulls at least 8 to 10 pounds of weed off a single 6 foot plant in a perlite mix in big pots with out checking the ph at all...never! He says he doesn't know why people bother with ph testing since he believes its not needed. This technic has been used for over 20 years by the people closest around him (like a secret recipe if u will),The main concept is to get the most pot off one plant ...less plants less risk right? Does anybody have any idea or info on this subject ????

You can get pounds off of one plant if it has the right conditions.

wow 8-10 pounds just picture 10 pounds, thats a black trashbag that is filled up. and picture all of that double the size on a 6 ft plant because it shrinks when dried.

You're not going to get that off a 6 ft indoor plant,he lied to you.As for ph not being important,if you soil ph isnt between 6 and 7 you are not going to uptake nutrients, period.Thats not to say you cant have a perfectly good grow without adjusting nute or soil ph,it's called luck.

not possible to get 8-10 lbs off 1 indoor plant. it would have to be lst'd until it covered a space about 8ftx8ft and lit by 3kw. veg time would be 3months or more and i still don't think it would happen. your friend is not telling you the truth. !!!!. in my 4ftx4ft space, using 1.4kw my best yeild (with 16-18plants) is 3 - 3 1/2 lbs!!!!! your friend probably meant 8-10 oz of 1 6ft plant. btw it is not very practical to grow a 6ft plant indoors anyway.
