    sexing early = late harvest?

    Hi,
I understand its possible to throw your plants on 12/12 early in veg and then once you can determine the sex get them back on 18/6 to get them back in veg. And I've heard that doing this will delay your harvest (for obvious reasons). My question is, if I do this with my plants inside, and then I transplant the plants outside mid-summer to allow them to flower out there in the fall... will they still flower later then if I hadn't sexed them early?

Basically what I'm saying is, I understand if I sexed them indoors and left them indoors it would delay growth by however long it took to sex them... and therefore delay the *indoor* harvest. But if I throw the plants outside anyway, they should just start to flower when the days start shortening at the end of the summer anyway, right? Or does sexing them somehow throw the plant off to where it doesn't flower right away when the lighting changes.

I'd like to know the sex of my plants before I put them outside b/c I'm not doing a huge grow. But at the same time, I don't want to lose my harvest b/c they take too long to flower (freeze can hit here by Nov 1).

thanks for any help you can provide.

what you can do that might work out better is just wait for pre flowers... if your going to wait until mid summer to transplant out side you shoudl most definately see pre-flowers by the second month from seed.
