your router might have a built-in firewall, which could be slowing down the web pages. you would have to find a way to disable it, i would recomend looking through the booklet that came with the router

When I plug the internet directly into my comp it is fast as lightning, but when I use the router, which is only about 15 feet away with a wall between it and my comp, the internet runs slower than dial up sometimes. It rarely effects download times though and only seems to give me problems when trying to load a page that isn't in my cookies, or after I clean up my cookies a cache folders.
