Not only will it work but I highly recommend using the T5!
Think about indoor growing for a minute. What you're trying to do is recreate an outdoor environment and control it.
Cannabis that is grown outdoors gets all spectrums of light throughout the whole entire proccess. When grown outdoors plants yield higher and are far more potent than any indoor grow. (figuratively speaking, if we used the same nutrients indoors and outdoors.) Why? Well, it's the light. If you have both spectrums of light, use em! Do not hesitate.
The more light you have the more penetration the plant recieves. More penetration has obvious benefits. Using half of your lights through each half of the plants cycle is, in my opinion, ignorant as all hell.
Will it work with one spec for vegetative and one for flowering? Absolutely. But why cheat yourself AND your plant?
The only possible downfall is the wattage cost for running double the electricity...But if that's not a concern, shit, do you even need to ask? Hell if you have to, watch less TV...That'll keep that bill down. lol
