Seatbelts
I always think about how one of the reasons weed (and all drugs for that matter) should be is freedom of choice, and that the government should let us do what we want as long as we don't hurt anyone else.
I also thought about how it is the law to wear a seatbelt and if you are caught without one, you get ticketed or fined or whatnot. I realized that this is almost the exact same situation as with weed. The only person who is hurt by someone not wearing a seatbelt, in the majority of situations, is the person not wearing one. Therefore, does the government have the right to make you wear a seatbelt if you don't want to? It's your body, your life. It can and has saved many lives, but is it the government's job to make it the law to wear one?
Though I always buckle up, and I think everyone should, I do not think the government should be the ones to tell me to do so. If I want to put my life at risk, it should be my choice.

I agree, I should also add that we should be able to make our own choices regarding seatbelts BUT we have to make sure that children are buckled in, I believe the adult in the car should be responsible for that.

Well I see this from a couple of perspectives...
Yes, you only hurt yourself by not wearing a seat belt.
But ultimately if someone hurt in an accident is uninsured or underinsured medically, guess who ends up taking the brunt of it if they can't pay their medical bills?

Actually it's fucking irresponible not to wear a seatbelt. If you are sitting in the back you can fly into the person in front of you and kill them. Also, think about the emotional cost on friends and family. It takes like half a second to belt up, and traffic accidents are messy

I know here in Florida one thing that has become a recent issue is the city and state gov being in bed with the auto insurance companies. I think it should be a choice but I guess the only one choosing is our elected officials. I hate the government sometimes.
