I am in college, and I am going to be very successful. However, my boyfriend is 25 and has just been working since high school, and was actually out of work completely for three years. I don't care that he isn't in college, so you are right that women do find men who don't have fancy diplomas attractive. He is back on track and is going to vocational school soon, but even if he never did that I would still love him.
That is very refreshing to hear. I wish you both luck.

Men do not care one iota about a female partners' diploma and income. Those are the first things that many single upwardly-mobile women look at when determining a man's desirability. I could understand a woman not wanting a guy that's dependant, chronically unemployed and not looking for work, etc., but there aren't enough single, "intelligent" (whatever that means) professional types to go around for all of the women with unreasonable, impossible-to-meet standards. They say that they won't become a man's property, but in reality they want to sell themselves to the highest bidder - and the irony is that many will fail to even get any bids at all.

Often, the problems are that they are either nasty, or are unaware of, or unwilling to learn, how to be attractive to the opposite sex. Sometimes, it's several of those factors.

That is not what I meant. It's irrelevant to the relationship. Would it have affeted you if she had NOT done the schooling?

My wife went to night school, after work, for many years to get her college diploma -and I am very proud. Would I still want her if she hadn't? You better believe it!

    Yes.

It also helps to have similar views, get along, etc. If your interest is music, and hers is physics, that should make no difference.

When you have the unconditional type of love, it's forever.

I do agree with you here. There are many awful, catty, horrible women out there who truly do only want a partner that can match and possibly exceed their salary.

I know quite a few men, however, who are the same way. Maybe this is due to the circles I travel in, but a lot of the men I am aquainted with require a woman to be college-educated and able to pull in a pretty hefty salary, even if she won't end up working when they have a family.

Again, maybe this is not common among men, but in my experience there are many people in both genders who consider fancy diplomas a requirement for attractiveness.
