What Bug Have I Found Here?
this tiny Larva style bug has shown up a few times in my garden space. I never see it get much bigger than pictured here. The biggest I have seen this bug is about double the size shown. It was more orangy yellowish. If that makes any sense at all/..:stoned: :stoned: :stoned:
Usually I neem pretty hard and this bug goes away. But I even sprayed Neem this plants whole life. up till two weeks into flowering. I was anal about it. All my hard work..
I have only looked loosely at the plant to see how infected it is. those bugs are pretty hard to see because they hide in the veins of the leafs. I could have quite a few of em. Im tempted to neem. but the poor Buds... Prehaps I do it carefully.
What bug is this anyways?

Congrats, you have thrips.
Ewww.
They hate neem though, and they hate pyrethrin even worse.
Those are the larvae. the adults can fly. they breeed in the soil. spary the soil surface with neem too. for a positive ID check lover leaves for silvery munch trails.
I like to bomb with pyrethrin every so often to kill the fuckers off.

cool thanks for the positive ID....
Is prythem sprya safe for flowerinf plants or only for planbts with no flowers?
I made sure I bombed trhe soil pretty hard with Neem...
Little bastards. I know exactly which plant these came from if they start in the soil. The revegged plant I had in there had older soil since it was a ReVegged plant and the first time I saw this bug was on that plant almost 8 months ago.

Actually pyrethrin breaks down VERY fast under intense light. You should always (veg and flower) try to use one that is JUST pyrethrins, because some contain organic activators- and I don't mean organic in the hippie sense, but in organic molecules- hydrocarbons- that scare the crap out of me- remember when they thought DDT was safe? yeah....
Even so I hate treating plants past week 3 of flower.
For your flowering girls, get the lower parts of the plant and the soil surface with neem. For one, the larvae migrate from the soil up the stem so halting that will keep them off the upper plant parts. Even a couple rings of double-sided sticky tape around the stalk should do wonders. Luckily thrips don't do the sort of damage high on the plant that other bugs can do. They are the WORST for seedlings and small clones, since so much of the plant is nice and low to the ground, just how thye littl bastard like it.

yeah stinky beat me to it, those are thrip larvae. i didn't find neem to help, or insecticidal soap for that matter. i used End All by Safers, it's organic and can be used up until harvest. i always follow up about a week later, and then i use neem oil as a preventative. have fun with them little buggers.

Here's the link for the Safer's product. Safer's End-All Insecticide - Veseys I dunno if it's solely Canadian. I got it at my local garden shop, so I would assume it is readily available. Good luck with the pest-destruction!
