When I was little, there was a movie that used to scare the living crap outta me..

Stephen King's "Cat's Eye."

It's honestly about the same thing you described, only there's a cat involved. This little girl (Drew Barrymore) goes to sleep each night, and as she does, this NASTY looking troll/mini monster comes out of the wall and tries to...take her breath..aka killing her. Lucky for her, the cat knows whats up and eventually gets to her just as the lil guy is doing his thing, and they duke it out before the troll is killed...it's so creepy though.

Seriously, lol, I used to be so scared that the little troll was in my room..

So, I'd be careful...and watch your breath so he don't take it. ~
