    Deep Vs. Shallow Pots

    Hey all,

So I'm planning the Cab layout I want to use, and one question popped into my head. Can you substitute a "normal" sized planting pot for a shallower but larger area pot? Reason is I won't have the height to spare for growing plants and a large pot, max inside height will be about 26" and I'd like to make the most of it.

    Thanks!

I have thought about that... but to be honest, I would be a little nervous since this would be my 1st personal go at a grow.

to be honest, volume is volume. so if u have two of the same gal size pots, but one is deep and one is shallow, then u will most likely get the same results, the roots just need some where to grow, they dont need to or have to grow down they can grow out.

Excellent point, JackdaWack...I think that is a myth about having five inches of vertical substrate to get females.

If you ck out Volker's tub ladies thread here http://boards.cannabis.com/closet-ca...t-tubgirl.html, you may get some ideas on what you could do, Dizzy 1 With that limited space also look into LST, SOG, or SCROG...if you haven't already.

    Good Luck, Bree

    Excellent replies, thank you.

Bree, I'm all the board doing that edumacation thing.
And I know LSTing will be figured into whatever I get, still learning about SOG and SCROG.
