    teeth cleaning

Do you guys brush your pets teeth? I tried to do it for my dogs but sampson just wants to eat the tooth paste and wont let me brush. He's paying for it now though. He's only 4 but hes at the vets today to get a real teeth cleaning.

Yup, I brush my dogs teeth.. He lets me do it, cuz he knows he's getting food afterwards. I also have him get professionally cleaned every 2 months.

I don't brush the Tess' teeth but she eats dry food and chews bones and her tug of war rope like a champ.
She's 5 and totally due for a cleaning. I'm scheduling one for the spring.
4-5 years old I believe is normal for dogs to need their first cleaning.

We brush their teeth, but not regularly. They both eat dry food. They get them cleaned at the vet and at the kennel they go to when we are on vacation, though.

Do your dogs have a lot of broken teeth, from chewing on bones and the like? Our dogs both have a few, and the vet says there is not really any problem with this since they are domesticated, and the broken ones get removed when they start to be a problem.

My dog has never broken a tooth on a bone, but she has some that look like they might have been chipped from fighting when she was younger- she was a stray- still a scrappy lil bitch- I give her marrow bones as a special treat and she LOVES them and then leaves the bits around as presents for me to cut my feet on. They are approximately the same color as my living room carpet. OW.

    LOL.

One of our dogs plays way harder with everything then the other, and she loves her bones and her tug of war toys, but especially her little stuffed animals. She has a cow, a dog, and a frog that she loves to carry around. Its pretty funny to see this big yellow dog carrying a little stuffed frog in its mouth everywhere it goes.
