Growing isn't hard at all. It just takes some simple understanding.

Germination requires no fert., so don't use it.

Vegetative, when the lights are on 18/6, you use a fert. where the first number is higher than the last two numbers, for example: 5-1-1.(N-P-K). You need something high in Nitrogen for this stage to avoid yellowing. Follow the directions on the bottle and don't overfeed. Remeber, it's better to underfeed than over feed.

Flowering cycle requires the middle number (N-P-K) to be higher than the first number, and the last number to be either higher, or the same as the first number For example: 10-15-10, or 15-30-15. To avoid yellowing, follow the directions on the bottle of food and don't overfeed.

To avoid root rot, you just have to give the plant(s) big enough containers to thrive in.

So it's all just a simple understanding, but I see what you're saying. It can be tricky sometimes, but some strains are easier to grow than others as well, so I suggest you find a easy growing strain until you get the hang of things.

You'll get the hang of it, but if you're just learning, do only a few plants instead of a handful of them. Easier to maintain and understand. and if you've only done one grow so far, well of course you don't have it down yet. It took me like 3 grows to finally get a harvest.
