to answer your question yes it is a roll of the dice, but isnt it alwasy when your not dealing with established moms or pops..... there are many ways to get a mom, when starting to find your mom u will be not sure if it is male or female just like any other plant, hence the reason for flowering one or two of the clones, or flowering the plant you took the clones from leaving the clones in vegg.
