Sounds like you've done your research, and you will get high high high. Most newbies just hold it in their mouths... the smoke has to go IN YOUR LUNGS lol... Also taking bigger hits helps, but you might find yourself coughing, perfectly normal, and a good sign it's going to your lungs Enjoy! What sort of weed are you getting?

you should definitely start a smokers' journal, except you should just make this thread that journal. it's pretty much already been started. it'll also protect you from incrimination to have an online journal and not one in book form that 's easily linked to you. And you can always print it out if you need a hard copy. But yeah just keep posting and be specific about events, your impressions and concerns, etc.
