Sometimes it sucks being the reliable one.
Update:
My folks are still here. I love them, but damn does this ever remind me of why I moved away from them in the first place. My mother put a weird little crocheted hat on my toilet paper. Who the hell needs a toilet paper cozy!?! All I can say is thank the gods for MJ. It was created to help people get through times like these.

Wait, I just thought of something. Maybe I could get her to make me a bong cozy. That would be kind of sweet actually. Sweaters for your bong, the wave of the future!

I want one. It must be fusty and crocheted.

lol; that's so perfect it makes me want to cry; tell me about it; everytime i'm home i'm reminded to be thankful again and again that i'm not living with my parents; and i love them to death, but it's just a no-go

Here is an idiea for you:
First though - Be a gracious host to your parents for as long as they need your help. You may not have another such opportunity and if you don't take advantage of it you may live to regret it.
Anyway, why not start a few of your precious seeds in cups and scout out a good place to put them outdoors. It's the right time of year. You can get them outside before your parents even know what they are. Just start some other vegetable and / or flower seeds along with them. Tell them your experimenting with a new hobby.
You can then get going with the indoor room after your parents are safely back in their repaired / rebuilt home.
good luck

The folks are still here and we're managing to get along. They will have my hospitality for as long as they need it. I'm not too keen on outdoor growing. There are several small crops in the woods around me already. Two that I've happened upon while hiking sp far, there may or may not be more. Knowing that, I'm just not comfortable trying an outdoor grow at the moment. What I am doing in the meantime is studying everything I can find in relation to growing cannabis. So far so good, and I've decided I'm planting some bagseed my first time out. The seeds you buy that have good genetics are just too expensive to sacrifice to my amateur horticultural escapades.
