If it's the whole song then I'd love to get hold of it.. The beginning of my Live In Pompeii DVD starts with Floyd playing Echoes but if I remember correctly it's not the whole song, which pissed me off 'cause it was so awesome.. lol

Give me Gilmour any day!
wash your mouth out with soap, Roger Waters is a GOD, almost all of Floyd's great lyrics came from Roger Waters

    Hah, sorry, I meant PatgoD... I was/am stoned :P

Anyone ever see the Echoes synced with the last scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey? Even if a lot of stuff doesn't match up, it still sounds wonderful...

I think Waters' strongest point was his song writing skill. Especially his ability to make a seemingly continuous, concept type, album. From Dark Side on, Floyd albums were more like symphonies than just collections of random songs. The same with Waters' post Floyd stuff. Contrast that to the post Waters Floyd stuff, Division Bell, etc, which try as they might, still turned out as just a collection of songs. I still like the music but I'm much less likely to put on the disc and listen all the way through like I would with something like Wish You Were Here.

As far as performances are concerned, I've seen Floyd(post Waters) once, Gilmour once, and Waters twice. The Floyd show was the best concert I have ever seen, simply incredible. But Waters was much better than Gilmour. Then again, when I saw Gilmour it was back in '84 or '85 and he seemed to be trying to intentionally distance himself from Pink Floyd. It would be interesting to hear a comparison from somebody who saw both Waters and Glimour on their last tours.

i wish they would get along more often and play together. but niot like that lame ass live-aid orwhatever the fuck it was in GB a few years back when they hugged. and BTW, Atom Heart Mother is the best (non-beatles) album of all times. and it just so happenes if you play the new beatles album, LOVE, (which is a DVD audio disc) and start Atom Heart Mother, in the last 10 seconds or so, there is a seamless blend from one album to another... i accidently did this when i was completely spun on LSD and it blew my mind. also BTW that beatles LOVE album will blow your mind without drugs... even if you don't like the beatles, you will like them after you listen to this. kinda random speech, but listen to good music you punks!

oh btw. some of those tracks i believe appeared on More and Obscured by Clouds, two virtually unknown pink floyd albums released between 69 and 72. Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother, and Meddle were inbetween. So was Relics. There wewre probaly rehearsing for a concert from the sound of it Great find! the second song is "green is the colour" which is on the More album.. then it went silent...

More and Obscured By Clouds are two great albums. They were both done as soundtracks to some artsy type Euro films. I'm probably the minority with this but I find I listen to the two of them a lot more than I do The Wall. The song "The Main Theme" from More is this really trippy/ funky groove that's a must when you're realy baked.
