My stupid house.
I've been hinting around about this for a bit now. Here's some pics of the crap we're dealing with.
At least we've got it under control enough that now we're actually living in the damn thing.
To bring random folks up to speed: we bought a 94 year old house. Yes, we realized it was going to need some TLC, but damn. The chick that owned it before us lied on the paperwork, as did the realtors. It has plumbing issues out the yingyang. We signed on it Feb 23, but couldn't actually move into it until this past week. The furnace didn't work, the water heater didn't work, and we had 28 leaks. So, here are pictures of the hole in my livingroom ceiling/bathroom floor. We have retained an attorney:thumbsup:Mrs. Greenjeans Reviewed by Mrs. Greenjeans on . My stupid house. I've been hinting around about this for a bit now. Dude yea it was kinda your fault on this. My dad/his girlfriend want to buy a house up north thats 110 years old. Its actually in very GOOD condition but we got a house inspector. We found there were alot worse things that was told to us. There was a second ceiling in the kitchen that covered up the first one which had rotted away almost. And the electical problems were awful.
Though it cost a couple 100$'s for the insepection it could possibly save us 20K in the long run. From the deductions of the repairs if we do get the house.

Right on. Believe me, Papi and I had a couple of awful arguements about this. I wanted the inspection, he didn't. He was being unduly influenced by our realtor. Long story, but that's the gist of it. I noticed the issues, but "people" said I was just being a wet blanket. There was also a lot of flat out deception going on, on the part of the realtors i.e. backdated paperwork etc. It's just a mess, but we're getting a handle on it now. But the house issues are the reason why my grow got stalled, and why I am just so darn cranky and unlaid.

Yes thank you very much. Getting a lawyer at this point? Well good luck, but you don't buy unless... well too late for that. I talk shit but my first house I bought was built in 1906 so I really don't feel bad. I tore up every little area I could in the day time BEFORE I bought the house and I was never really surprised about anything. In the end, I remodeled a kitchen a bathroom, and fixed the garage and sold for $190,000 with a $82,500 buying price. (lived there for 6 yrs) I guess I would suggest saving your money on a lawyer and finding a good handyman!
You know who you should be really pissed at? Your realtor. What a piece of shit!
Sorry Hon, you beat me to it... I feel for you for being the voice of reason... but you gotta SHOUT SISTER!!! BE HEARD!!!

Wow, that must suck, but you really should have checked it out before signing anything. I know when I buy a home, I will be looking at it very well before buying it.
Not taking a walkthrough before signing is like buying any used car from a lot without seeing it first.
Good luck with the court battles though. Now you have to spend more money on a lawyer. I'm thinking this all could have been avoided if you had actually seen the home first (inside and out).
Not to offend you, but that wasn't good judgment on whose ever part it was not to look inside first. This case might a little harder win than you think.
Anyways, good luck!

Yeppers, it's the realtor who is on my shitlist.
Papi and I are both quite handy. We have no shortage of talent. It's time that is in short supply. We've got 4 kids between us, he works crazy hours, and I do my thing(s) for scratch, so time is at a premium. And this house is a freaking barn, so it takes all day to even clean it. My calves are gonna be so stoked...3 floors plus a basement. I'll be able to crack walnuts with my buttcheeks.
