My stupid house.
I like that show, too. I grew up in a 110-year-old Victorian-era "Money Pit," Mrs. Green. It was constantly needing something, and when it did it was never cheap. Glad y'all are handy!
Here in Texas, by law, lenders won't even let someone get a mortgage without an inspection. I can't remember which state you're in, but I'm guessing it's not here. Good luck!\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

Skink, there's still time to learn and get yourself another wife. . . . That skill really does give you a, well, a leg up.

Now that is just freaking wrong! I would have been upset too. When you renovate a house, your spirit gets infused into it. I love old houses. One of the reasons why I am so pissed about this house is because it's gorgeous. It has great bones, and it's been neglected. I see so much waste, you know?

Part of the problem is that Papi is such an upstanding trustworthy fellow that he thinks everyone is the same way. He's too trusting, and people who aren't honorable see him coming a mile away. I'm the pitbull in the relationship, but I can only do so much without damaging his pride as a man. So sometimes I have to let him take the lead, even when it doesn't turn out so well.

That is such a cool show! I can't decide whether I want to go period, or funky. I think maybe the attic and the kitchen for funky, and the rest of the house period. I have to have at least one room that reflects my insanity.
