    my nightmare

Recently this past week i cut way back on smoking. Problem i didn't realize that i was eating only sugars and carbs. The carbs and sugars were just like putting a dollar in your gas tank. Only gets you to the next point. So when i cut way back on my smoking I didn't eat as much. Not eating as many carbs or sugars my energy level went way down. Then every morning i looked in the mirror it looked like i was getting smaller. Saw a doctor today and this is what he told me " Your diet lacked protein for so long that your body burned the food as energy then you put more in. When you cut back the amount you were eating your body still needs energy and with out the protien in my diet my body started using my lean muscle for energy. Meaning my body's eating it's muscles for energy." on the scale i weight 112 lbs. I'm 5'7"
Now I have to aim to drink 5 of these nasty ass protien shakes a day till i get to a healty weight. Just letting you all know as I'm sure I'm not the only stoner who has horrible eating habits.

yea no more microwavable foods or anything that comes in a wrapper for me. I thought that rapid muscle loss was only an addicts problem but it's not it's eating habits and junkies have horrible eating habits. Sorry for being a broken record on this one but i feel this is very serious. Eating habits are important not just making sure you eat, but making sure you eat RIGHT

you dont sound like a broken record, not enough people eat a balanced diet and with all the fast food, were just getting more carbs, sugars, and fats than we need. and you can still eat your 711 burrito, just like alcohol, food, always in moderation

well, dont drink soda or eat fast food, stop eating cocoa puffs and start eating cheerios, eat more fruit, its not that hard, its just that healthier foods are more expensive, if you must have your 2 minute meals, try some lean cuisine, and just buy everything else sugar free, fat free, low fat, low sodium

You should start working-out, because drinking those protein shakes aren't going to do much good if you don't build your muscle. I'm sorta like you in a way I have a tendency to get only carbs, I not really that fond of sugar, and have to eat a lot to gain weight.

Work out, and then munch out, eat a lot of steak, fish, what not. You'll be more beefy that way and still able to eat the carbs, sugars.
