Why is there a 45 second wait in between searches?

If i misspell of click the new posts and then go to search for something i have to wait 45 seconds.

Site get bogged down from too much use?

Just wondering because i have never encounted a search that had a time limit and it is annoying.

I agree it is annoying, but they have good reasons for why things are the way they are here. I'm sure theres a good reason for the wait too.
