Crooks and Liars has a lot of video on the hearings it is very interesting .... now the bushies can no longer use their tired excuse the Plame was not covert .... she was.

The favorite meme of the right-wing apologists has long been that there was no crime committed in exposing Valerie Plame's identity because she was not a covert agent at the time of Novak's article (see here, here, here, here, and here). Rep Elijah Cummings (D-MD) devoted his entire first round of questioning today to clarifying whether or not Valerie Plame was indeed "covert" at the time of her outing. Let this be the video that sets the record straight once and for all. I don't anticipate an apology from the wingnuts anytime soon, however.

From the July 14, 2005, edition of CNN's Wolf Blitzer Reports, which featured host Wolf Blitzer:

BLITZER: The -- but the other argument that's been made against you is that you've sought to capitalize on this extravaganza, having that photo shoot with your wife [in the January 2004 Vanity Fair magazine], who was a clandestine officer of the CIA, and that you've tried to enrich yourself writing this book and all of that.

What do you make of those accusations, again, which are serious accusations, as you know, that have been leveled against you?

WILSON: My wife was not a clandestine officer the day that Bob Novak blew her identity.

BLITZER: But she hadn't been a clandestine officer for some time before that?

WILSON: That's not anything that I can talk about. And, indeed, I'll go back to what I said earlier, the CIA believed that a possible crime had been committed, and that's why they referred it to the Justice Department.

She was not a clandestine officer at the time that that article in Vanity Fair appeared.


Looks like her hubby has some questions to answer.

What does it have to be spelled out to you. The day Novak blew her cover was the day she was NO LONGER an agent ... what part of that you don't understand?

Before that day she was an undercover agent that came out at the hearing you didn't bother to watch .... so yes you are trying to dig up bullshit.

You can no longer get around the fact the Plame was covert until Novak printed her name .... not to mention that several members of the illegitimate bush regime are responsible for the outing including the illegitimate bush and cheney.
