Lighting help!
Hey guys, I'm using a 250W incandescent bulb with a reflector. Its infra-red so I dont need anything to produce heat. I've painted it blue to produce the blue light the plants need but I'm not so sure this is the right thing to do..is it? My grow is in a very confined space 8.6 sq.ft so this bulb as I calculated is perfect for my needs. I'm doing a dummy run on a few shitty seeds I got with some weed way back when. Gimme some help, I'm a complete newbie!

Lighting help!
Incandescent bulbs are almost worthless for growing - wrong spectrum, too much heat. Get some cheap CFLs or a small hps or MH security light

I need someone in UK to gimme some help with this as its pretty difficult to find things here. Plus you feel a bit dodgy. So my bulb is useless?...bugger. I've already got the seeds germinating...I'll need to find a bulb quick. Thanks for your help honey!
